Thinking About Getting on an Airplane? Fly Out of SRQ Airport

| Suncoast Post Staff |

Slowly but surely, the country is starting to open up. People are going out to restaurants, department stores, getting haircuts and more. Many of us miss our friends and relatives who are not within driving distance. We are starting to think about getting on a plane. Sarasota-Bradenton (SRQ) has a wonderful airport that is convenient, easy to get to, a wonderful spacious terminal and a wonderful and helpful staff.

From the SRQ Airport Website

Everything about Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is designed for your convenience. Our spacious terminal allows you to move about smoothly and easily, without stress or hurry. Airline ticketing, baggage claim, and other services are steps away from the main concourse, and both the short and long-term parking lots are adjacent to the main terminal. Check-in lines at SRQ are much shorter than at mega-airports, and there are no long lines of planes stacked up for take-off or landing. You’ll appreciate these advantages as you fly right through our easy, convenient terminal.

Before COVID-19

Before COVID-19 hit, this great airport had close to 40 flights departing and arriving every day. We all know what has happened to air transportation since the Pandemic. Well, maybe it’s time to take a look at SRQ airport for your flying needs.

We all have read about the reduced flights for the airlines, but flights are going in and out of SRQ. I just took a look at their website and was surprised to see the number of flights on the schedule. Yes, these flights can change at any time so it’s best to contact your airline.

Before the Pandemic, the airport was served by Air Canada, Allegiant Air, American, Delta, Elite, Frontier, Jet Blue, Sun Country and United. Check with these carriers for more information.
