It is fitting that it is called Siesta, as there is no better place to have a mid-afternoon nap in the entire city. The most unique thing about this beach is that it’s made up of pulverised coral. The beach is 99% quartz, with much of that coming from the Appalachian Mountains. That means there’s more than one reason to visit this historic beach.
Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium
The Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium is the perfect place for all animal lovers to head to. While here, you can pet the stingrays, and learn all about the amazing work that this institute does. As well as this, you will learn about the species and the changes that have been made to make the habitat more environmentally friendly. This establishment is a must for all with children, and it will be a place that will leave a lasting impression on them. There are also otters, manatees, sea turtles and sandbar sharks. The staff make the experience as pleasant as possible, and all of them are knowledgeable about the animals they look after and the work they do.
