The Cheesecake Cutie & Café

| Jennifer Geils |

Jennifer and Kane Geils are the new “Cuties” in town and boy are they ready to serve you!  The Cheesecake Cutie began 40 years ago when Barbara Lanza (Jennifer’s mom) started making cheesecakes in New Jersey for family and friends. In 1995, Barbara passed away from Breast Cancer and Jennifer started baking her mom’s cheesecake recipe to honor her for friends and family. Jennifer’s dream all began 4 years ago when she was told repeatedly that she should open her own bakery and sell these delicious cheesecakes. Jennifer just never believed that her Mom’s cheesecakes would cause the frenzy they do now. Jennifer says that her biggest compliment is when someone tells her “You know, my husband doesn’t even like cheesecake, but he couldn’t stop eating yours!”.  Wow!!

In Orlando, The Cheesecake Cutie became very popular for weddings, baby showers, corporate gifts to clients and just the ordinary get together amongst friends. If you have a special occasion coming up in 2021, consider The Cheesecake Cutie. They are the perfect size, taste like “Heaven in your mouth” and honestly are simply beautiful. The Cheesecakes are available in both the 2” Cutie size and 9” full cakes. Jennifer has become creative with her recipes to be able to serve a larger clientele. She will try to make most flavors if asked, but she has a strict policy of “If it doesn’t work with my Mom’s base recipe, it is a no go!”. She has created both KETO friendly and Gluten Free cheesecakes that are a hit with all those who try them. These are currently only available in the B’s Original, but if you call to place an order, Jennifer can make other flavors.

Jennifer is the “Cutie” behind the cheesecakes, but Kane is the mastermind behind the Café side. He grew up watching his grandmother cook and loves to be creative with his menu. Unless you call ahead to preorder, you never know what delicious option he will create for the day. They knew the cheesecakes would sell themselves but wanted to give their customers more options, so they added huge Sandwiches, Salads, on the go Charcuterie Boards, beautifully designed custom Charcuterie Boards and “Scuties,” which are 1-2 bite appetizers. You can find Kane arriving early each day to make everything fresh for the day. Not only are the café items made on site, Jennifer and her “Cuties” make all the cheesecakes there as well.

The Cheesecake Cutie & Café is quickly become a name on the island and currently offers cheesecakes in local restaurants such as Pesto on Cortez and The Anna Maria Oyster Bar’s Landside. Several other  restaurants have also shown interest in carrying The Cheesecake Cutie’s gourmet cheesecakes and you can be sure that these perfectly delicious cheesecakes will be offered in more restaurants to come.

The Geils met George and Devan Maize while George was recruiting in Orlando for the United States Marine Corps. They became very close and eventually became like family as the Maizes asked Jennifer and Kane to be the Godparents of their youngest son. The Maizes were looking for a place to put down roots when George gets out of the military and the Geils asked them to be business partners. The Geils and the Maizes have taken a true leap of faith to start their “Cheesecake Cutie” journey and it is one that they are all so excited to be a part of.
