SRQ Reaches 60 Nonstop Destinations as Allegiant Adds New Lexington Route
Allegiant Air has expanded its services at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) with the introduction of a new nonstop route to Blue Grass Airport (LEX) in Lexington, Kentucky, commencing today. This addition marks Allegiant’s 35th route from SRQ and contributes to the airport’s 60th nonstop destination.
The new flights are scheduled twice weekly, operating on Sundays and Thursdays. To celebrate the launch, Allegiant is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $45 for tickets purchased by April 5. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport
This expansion is part of Allegiant’s ongoing growth at SRQ, which has significantly contributed to the airport’s development, including the construction of the new Concourse A that opened in January.
In February, Allegiant introduced seven other nonstop routes from SRQ to various destinations:
- Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina (GSP)
- Moline, Illinois (MLI)
- Albany, New York (ALB)
- Elmira/Corning, New York (ELM)
- Omaha, Nebraska (OMA)
- Roanoke, Virginia (ROA)
- Knoxville, Tennessee (TYS)These additions have solidified Allegiant’s position as the airline offering the most nonstop destinations from SRQ.
Allegiant Air, headquartered in Las Vegas, operates nearly half of its total capacity in Florida. Since launching at SRQ in 2018 with just three routes, the airline has expanded its footprint significantly.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport has also enhanced its passenger services recently. In March, the airport introduced in-person TSA PreCheck enrollment, providing travelers with a convenient option to expedite their security screening process.
