Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers Sets New Passenger Record in 2024
Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers achieved a significant milestone in 2024, welcoming a record-breaking 11,028,182 passengers. This figure represents a 6.6% increase over the previous record of 10.3 million passengers set in 2022.
December 2024 was particularly noteworthy, with 1,121,793 passengers traveling through RSW—a 2.5% increase compared to December 2023. This made it the busiest December in the airport’s 42-year history.
The top five airlines in December 2024 were:
- Delta Air Lines: 212,801 passengers
- Southwest Airlines: 171,903 passengers
- United Airlines: 164,722 passengers
- American Airlines: 147,042 passengers
- JetBlue Airways: 110,179 passengers
RSW also reported 10,362 aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings) in December 2024, marking a 5% increase compared to December 2023.
