Southwest Airlines Expands SRQ Service With More Nonstop Flights for Spring 2027
Southwest Airlines is expanding its spring 2027 schedule at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport with seasonal nonstop flights to Buffalo, Providence and Minneapolis.
Southwest Airlines is giving Florida Suncoast travelers several additional reasons to choose Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
The carrier has added new and returning flight options to its spring 2027 schedule at SRQ, strengthening connections between Sarasota-Manatee and several important northern travel markets.
The additions include seasonal nonstop service linking Sarasota-Bradenton with Buffalo, Providence and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The flights are designed primarily around the busy spring travel period, when thousands of seasonal residents, vacationers and families travel between Florida and colder parts of the country.
According to information released through Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the Buffalo and Providence flights are expected to operate on Saturdays during March and April. Minneapolis-St. Paul service is also returning as a seasonal option.
Spring Nonstop Flights Added at SRQ
Southwest’s spring schedule includes the following Sarasota-Bradenton connections:
Buffalo, New York
The seasonal nonstop between SRQ and Buffalo Niagara International Airport is expected to operate on Saturdays during March and April.
The flight gives travelers from western New York direct access to Sarasota, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Venice and other Gulf Coast communities without requiring a connection in Baltimore, Chicago or another major airport.
It should also be helpful for Suncoast residents traveling north to visit family or reach destinations near Buffalo, Niagara Falls and southern Ontario.
Providence, Rhode Island
Saturday service between Sarasota-Bradenton and Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport is also scheduled for March and April.
This is a returning Southwest route. The airline previously operated nonstop service between Providence and SRQ in 2023.
Providence is an especially valuable market for the Suncoast because the airport serves much more than Rhode Island. It is also a convenient option for travelers from southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and parts of Connecticut.
For some passengers, flying through Providence can be easier than traveling through Boston Logan International Airport, particularly during busy winter and spring travel periods.
Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota
Southwest is also bringing back seasonal service between SRQ and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The Minneapolis area is an important source of winter visitors to Southwest Florida. A nonstop option allows travelers to avoid changing aircraft in cities such as Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago or Denver.
Delta Air Lines and Sun Country Airlines also offer seasonal Minneapolis service at SRQ, giving passengers another competitive option when comparing schedules and fares.
