Passenger growth at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport continues to soar, with airport officials announcing another record-breaking year in 2025.

According to the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority, SRQ served 4,514,781 passengers during calendar year 2025, marking a 6.34% increase over 2024 and surpassing the 4.5-million-passenger mark for the first time in the airport’s history.

The momentum carried through the busy holiday season as well. December 2025 traffic totaled 417,468 passengers, a 3.05% increase compared to December 2024, when 405,115 travelers passed through the airport.

Sustained Growth Reflects Regional Demand

Airport officials say the continued rise in passenger numbers highlights the region’s growing popularity as both a year-round home and a travel destination.

“The continued growth we have experienced at SRQ over the past several years has been exceptional,” said Paul Hoback Jr., President and CEO of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. “Surpassing 4.5 million passengers in 2025 is an important milestone and reflects strong demand for affordable and reliable air service.”

Hoback added that the airport remains focused on strengthening partnerships with airlines, improving the passenger experience, and planning for the region’s long-term transportation needs.

More Flights, More Choices

SRQ’s growth has been fueled by expanded nonstop routes, increased seasonal service, and continued demand from both leisure travelers and residents. In recent years, the airport has added flights to major hubs and popular destinations across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast, while also welcoming new airlines and expanded service from existing carriers.

As passenger volumes climb, SRQ has also invested in terminal improvements, roadway access, and customer-focused amenities designed to keep pace with the airport’s rapid growth.

Looking Ahead

With record traffic now becoming the norm, airport leaders say strategic planning will be key as SRQ continues to evolve into one of Florida’s fastest-growing regional airports. Officials expect strong demand to continue into 2026, particularly during peak tourism and seasonal travel months.
