New Cell Lot Is Open!

  • 124 additional paved parking spaces, 5 of them handicapped accessible.
  • Address: 1180 Rental Car Road, Sarasota, Florida, directly across from the previous Cell Phone lot. Easy access from Old Bradenton Road or the main airport entrance off University Parkway.
  • Amenities: restrooms, vending machines.
  • Two 8’x16’ flight information screens will be installed within 6 months.
  • Lighted and secured with fencing, gate will be closed after the last arriving flight and re-opened before the first arrival of the day.
  • Frequently asked question: the antennae in the center of the lot are used by the FAA to communicate with aircraft overflying at high altitudes.
  • Note: there is no overnight parking allowed. Lot will be monitored via CCTV.

The first half of calendar year 2023, Sarasota Bradenton International Airport has seen a 14% increase in passenger traffic over the same period in 2022. 2,389,313 passengers traveled through SRQ for the first half of 2023.

Starting this November, travelers from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport can conveniently fly direct to Wilmington Airport in Delaware, bypassing the busy Philadelphia International Airport, as stated in a recent announcement.

Avelo Airlines is set to launch this direct connection from Sarasota Bradenton to Wilmington Airport (ILG) on Nov. 2. This route, targeting those who are bound for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and its surrounding Delaware Valley Region, will be operational twice a week—on Thursdays and Sundays.

Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO, Andrew Levy, expressed his enthusiasm: “Hello Philly from SRQ! Our unique direct service to Wilmington Airport, which is the region’s most user-friendly airport, makes traveling to Philadelphia and the wider Delaware Valley not only easier but also more cost-effective. Paired with Avelo’s top-notch reliability, it’s the most seamless and enjoyable option for those venturing to the City of Brotherly Love from Florida’s Gulf Coast.”

Highlighting the airline’s promotional offers, the announcement also mentioned enticing “introductory one-way fares between SRQ and ILG,” with prices starting at a mere $49.

This new route marks the 54th direct flight option from Sarasota Bradenton airport. There has been a significant upswing in the airport’s direct flight offerings in the recent past, paralleled by a surge in passenger numbers. This growth trend was especially notable during the COVID-19 pandemic when international tourism saw a sharp decline.
