“Local Love Program” Created to Help Local Merchants in Manatee & Sarasota County

As a small business owned by husband and wife, Alexandra Lowe-Mains and James Mains, value the importance of supporting and shopping local. The couple owns SeaMonkey Apparel, a coastal inspired apparel company based out of Bradenton, Florida.

Following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene and Milton, Alexandra and James were inspired by local businesses supporting one another in any way they could. As the community continues to recover, Alexandra and James saw an opportunity to continue this level of support by creating the ‘Local Love Program’. This free program has a simple goal; help promote other small businesses and encourage positive growth across the community. “This community really stepped up following the hurricanes and we want to use this program to encourage everyone to continue supporting one another. Whether times are good or bad, there is plenty of opportunity to help each other grow with little to no financial commitment and we think the ‘Local Love Program’ is a great way to do that.” Says Alexandra.

Local Love

The ‘Local Love Program’ provides free marketing opportunities with strong results and minimal effort.  Participants of the program are asked to share content about one another twice a month on social media.

Alexandra and James launched the program on January 21st and within 24 hours have already registered over 25 members and anticipate that number to double within the coming weeks.

Participants are asked to meet basic eligibility requirements including such as serving the Manatee and Sarasota County area, poses a formal logo, maintain active social media accounts, and a website.
