Sad News, Joyland of Bradenton is Closing– OPEN AGAIN IN 2019!
GREAT NEWS! Joyland is open again. Story to follow on the Sarasota Post.
It is the end of an era in Bradenton, Florida. One of the best Country and Western venues is closing. Joyland’s final night is this Saturday, May 12.
They started in 1958 in Pinellas Park by St. Petersburg, FL. as part of Joyland Amusement Park. The Parks Pavilion started having Country Music Acts and the people loved it! They moved down to Bradenton in 1994 and finally settled at 5520 14th St. W. in a huge building with the biggest dance floor I’ve ever seen! So many musicians have played there: Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, just to name a few!
Owner Rick Lambert says it’s time for him to retire and he’s selling the business. There’s only 2 more times to visit – Friday, May 11, 7pm to 2am and then the final party on Saturday, May 12, 7pm to 2am.
They are going out with a bang! Rye Road is performing and there will also be a set with Joyland Dee Jay, DJ Trevor! DJ Duane will also be bringing the music. And then Joyland has invited you to celebrate owner Rick Lambert’s Retirement!
Come on out for a great night of dancing on the huge dance floor! It’s going to be one of the biggest and best nights of the year in Bradenton!
