Full Letter from Jennifer (posted on Facebook)
Dear Friends,
It’s with a heavy heart that I share with you that I have decided—our little family business will be closing in December. This has been one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make, and we want you to know how deeply grateful we are for the love, encouragement, and support you’ve given us through the years.
When we first opened, our hope wasn’t just to serve cheesecake. We wanted to create a space that felt like home—a place where families could gather, friendships could grow, and memories could be made. Because of all of you, that hope came true.
Behind the smiles, though, it’s been tough. The financial strain has been heavy, especially after the hurricanes, and the daily demands of trying to make ends meet has taken more from us than we could have imagined—time with our children, our marriage, and even our own emotional/mental health. As much as we’ve tried to keep pushing forward, we’ve reached a point where the cost is simply too great for our family.
Still, we are proud of what we built. We’ll forever treasure every kind word, every story shared, and every person who came through our doors. You’ve given us the gift of keeping my mother’s memory alive each day, even as this year marked 30 years since her passing. You’ve allowed Kane to honor his grandmother with her beloved Lady O’s dressing and to share his own creations with you. What a blessing that has been.
Though this chapter is ending, the laughter, joy, sharing our faith and memories we’ve made here will always stay with us. We hope you’ll remember not just the food, but the heart and love that went into it all.
Over the next few months, I am asking for your continued support—for us to be able to make it through till December, our family and our staff. Come by for your favorite cheesecakes, order a coffee (online or in the store), grab some truffles, treats for your pups (I will ship these), or even a bottle of dressing. Please also sign up on our website so we can stay in touch and keep you updated on what’s ahead for our family. We know one thing is for sure—we will not be staying in Florida. It’s time for a new chapter somewhere else, and we’re trusting God to guide us. The past year we have had to lean into God a lot more than ever before and Praise Him he has gotten us through.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our story. You’ll always hold a special place in our lives.
