Virtual Concert

Virtual Concert for Residents – Tidewell Hospice, GuitarSarasota Collaboration Effort

Tidewell Hospice and GuitarSarasota, two local not-for-profits, have collaborated to create a virtual concert, “Heart Strings: Bringing You the Power of Music,” for the enjoyment of residents within the communities and care facilities Tidewell serves.

Music as Therapy

Music therapy is one of Tidewell’s wide array of complementary services for its patients and families, which also include therapies such as expressive arts and pet therapy. This collaborative effort is one of the many ways Tidewell is helping its patients, their loved ones and community members relax and relieve stress during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Tidewell is dedicated to brightening the lives of our patients, colleagues and entire community through life’s challenges, including COVID-19,” said Tidewell President and CEO Jonathan Fleece. “This collaboration with GuitarSarasota is an opportunity to restore essential human connection at a time when it’s difficult to establish.”

Heart Strings Virtual Concert

GuitarSarasota’s Heart Strings program delivers free musical performances to older adults residing in assisted-living facilities and memory care and cancer centers, as well as VA hospitals. The organization has focused on finding creative ways to continue performing and bring live entertainment to people during the pandemic.
