Frontier Airlines to Add Starlink Wi-Fi Beginning in 2027: What Florida Travelers Should Know
Frontier Airlines is preparing to make a major change to its traditionally no-frills flying experience by introducing high-speed internet service aboard its aircraft.
The Denver-based carrier announced that its first Starlink-equipped airplane is expected to enter service in early 2027. The upgrade will give Frontier passengers access to fast, satellite-based Wi-Fi capable of supporting streaming, web browsing, messaging, online work and other internet activities while in the air.
For Florida travelers who use Frontier for affordable flights, the announcement addresses one of the most noticeable differences between the airline and many larger carriers: Frontier flights generally do not currently provide Wi-Fi or traditional seatback entertainment.
What Frontier Has Announced
Frontier says it plans to use Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX, to provide connectivity aboard its aircraft.
The airline expects to place its first Starlink-equipped plane into service in early 2027. However, Frontier has not said that every aircraft will have Wi-Fi as soon as the program begins.
Instead, the service will likely become available gradually as equipment is installed on individual airplanes. That means passengers may encounter a mixture of equipped and unequipped aircraft during the rollout.

Frontier and other airlines associated with investment firm Indigo Partners—including Wizz Air, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific—expect to install Starlink equipment on more than 1,000 aircraft combined.
Frontier says it will be the first U.S. airline to offer passengers Starlink through the newly announced system managed directly by Starlink.

Frontier has served numerous Florida destinations over the years, making the airline’s Wi-Fi plans particularly relevant to travelers throughout the Sunshine State. The carrier’s network continues to change, as seen in recent Frontier route cuts affecting Sarasota, Tampa, Orlando and Miami.
