SP: Lana, please tell us about Fresh Coat Painters of Sarasota County. What do you specialize in and who is your target clientele? What sets you apart from other similar businesses?

FC: We focus on interior and exterior painting jobs as well as additional services such as residential painting, popcorn ceiling removal, house painting, cabinet painting, wallpaper removal and more. With Sarasota being a top destination for tourists, as well as host to many vacation homes, there are many residents in the area that we feel will be a great fit for our services. Our target clients are busy people who want to get a job done with a quality outcome and without a problem. Our second target clients are residents between the ages of 45-65 who don’t want to go on a ladder and paint themselves. We use only quality products. We also offer paint with no VOC (a potentially toxic chemical) and paint with low VOC if clients prefer that. We have 24/7 reception where you can get assistance on the phone, and you can get a quote within three days. We will schedule a project in three weeks or less so you aren’t waiting for work to begin.

SP: What has led you to opening a painting company? What are your ties to Sarasota?

FC: We have been here for seven years. My husband, Joe was originally from Pennsylvania. He used to visit Siesta Key as a kid where his grandma had a home, which was one of the first homes built in Sarasota. Eventually he wanted to escape the cold and dragged me along from the Ukraine and we moved here to enjoy a warmer climate. He’s worked in the home improvement space for a number of years. Joe has extensive experience in the painting industry working with Sherwin Williams out of college and then Valspar for over a decade. I’ve worked for Lowe’s for five years now and was a teacher before that. We love the Sarasota area! There is so much going on here. There is so much development in the area with lots of new homes and businesses going up. It’s very lively, with people golfing and going out for dinner. We decided to combine our love for home improvement projects and helping people which led to the opening of Fresh Coat Painters.

FC: We offer no down payment, no interest, and no monthly payment for up to 12 months. The quote we present to clients is what they will pay no matter if we work longer or use additional paint.
