Former Anna Maria Islander Designs Unique T-Shirt Art
Paul Arnold, The All Around Artist, is a 1989 Ringling Fine Arts Graduate. He grew up on Anna Maria Island and was the son of Leroy Arnold Sr., who was Mayor of Bradenton Beach; now, Paul resides in Miamisburg, Ohio. But his love for the island has only grown stronger, So he started designing for Island Landmarks and Business’ in January of 2021.
His cartoon style was developed while attending Bayshore High School in Bradenton, where he was voted “Most Talented” and was the Art Club President his senior year. Fast forward 30 + years later, He has mastered his Warpy Wavey Fun Colorful Style with the help of Adobe Photoshop. He designs the art in pencil, first looking at reference photos, sometimes from google maps. Then inks the design before scanning it into photoshop to add those vibrant colors.
Two new designs are coming out this week! Anna Maria General Store and The Anna Maria City Pier which can be purchased at both locations. They are sure to be a hot seller being a dry fit and UV protection shirts for Locals and Tourists alike. His other art shirts are already selling at locations such as Freckled Fin, Tide Tables, Island Fresh Market, Star Fish Company, Harry’s Grill, and soon Duffy’s Tavern, where they are already selling his postcards and magnets.
Paul published a 2022 Anna Maria Art Calendar, which was sold at Star Fish, Minnie’s, and Duffy’s Tavern. He plans on making a 2023 Calendar by adding his new art.
Paul started designing shirts in 1995 for the legendary Key West Willy’s on Bradenton Beach, where they were a big hit with the locals! That same year he started designing The Bridge Street Festival Shirts. By 2003 he started working as a screen printer at J& J graphics in Holmes Beach, where he also designed T-Shirts.
