Florida Suncoast Businesses- If Your Website Is Not ADA Compliant You Risk Being Sued
Several months ago, we shared a story “Is Your Website Compliant With the ADA?” Since the story ran, we have received many inquiries from businesses in the Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Cortez, Palmetto, Tampa, St. Pete, Naples, North Port, Englewood areas and more as to what a company should do to make their website compliant.
Here is a link to a video about a Clearwater retailer that brings the story right to the point. It clearly explains what you need to do.
We know you have lots of questions as to what you should or should not do. It’s not an easy decision.
Here is an excerpt from the story- “Nearly 5,000 ADA lawsuits were filed in federal court for alleged website violations in the first six months of 2018, according to an analysis by Seyfarth Shaw, a law firm that specializes in defending such cases. Business owners who are sued under the ADA complain that the law allows plaintiffs to demand huge payouts in damages without first giving the business owner the opportunity to fix the websites.”
