Ever since 2013, downtown Sarasota has had a premier Italian leather shop called Eleganza. The owner, Berenise Ahumada, is known affectionately as Bere.

Bere’s passion for leather began from her time spent in Tuscany, where she worked in a leather store and fell in love with the attention to detail. All of their products are made in Italy and each has a very high quality of workmanship. Bere travels to Italy 3-4 times a year to choose exquisite items for her shop. They offer unique designs for every kind of personal taste.

When you walk into the store you are immediately hit with the aroma of leather! The hand painted colors and smells are wonderful and you can spend a lot of time just looking at the unique products. Sustainability is important; the leather is treated using vegetable color extracts and the way it’s manufactured gives it an aged appearance and so, the longer you have it the more beautiful it becomes. Bere loves to spend time with her customers and will answer any questions or just chat about whatever.

Her line of exceptional products include such items as leather bags, briefcases, travel bags, belts, shoes, jackets, fur coats, wallets, python and crocodile bags, and more accessories including beautifully colored scarves. Something for everyone! Bere loves the fact that Sarasotans enjoy splashes of color, rather than just black, brown, or burgundy.
