Cartano Creative: Where Great Design and Community Go Hand in Hand
When you meet Kim and Steve Cartano, you instantly sense that their work is personal — and purposeful. Together, they’ve built Cartano Creative, a boutique photography and design studio that balances sharp visuals with something far less common: heart.
Based right here on the Suncoast, Cartano Creative specializes in high-end architectural photography, branding, and thoughtful design — but it’s the way they do it that stands out. Every project is rooted in partnership, built on genuine connection, and executed with intention.
“We don’t want to just check the box on a deliverable,” Kim says. “We want to help people tell their story — whether it’s through the lens of a camera or a logo that reflects who they are.”

At its core, Cartano Creative is about elevating others. From capturing a newly built custom home with Steve’s expert eye to designing full campaign packages for nonprofits, their studio operates with the belief that visuals should not only look good — they should do good.
Steve leads all photography efforts with an intuitive understanding of light, space, and design — skills that shine in his architectural work. He is also an FAA-licensed drone pilot, allowing the studio to offer dynamic aerial perspectives that bring projects to life from every angle. His ability to capture both sweeping exterior shots and intimate interior moments is a key reason builders and designers trust Cartano Creative to showcase their work at the highest level.
That mindset of excellence and service is woven into everything they do. Kim is deeply involved in the community, serving on multiple nonprofit boards and giving countless hours to causes close to her heart. She currently serves on the board of Parenting Matters, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families through education, coaching, and support. One of the organization’s most anticipated annual fundraisers is the Sangarita Showdown — an epic tasting event featuring sangrias, margaritas, and small bites from some of the region’s top restaurants. Now in its 9th year, the Sangarita Showdown returns November 14, 2025, and tickets go on sale August 1st. Kim is leading the full creative effort for the event — from branding and flyers to social media elements, signage, and the printed programs.
She also serves as Secretary for the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation Guild – Lakewood Ranch Branch, a passionate group focused on supporting children’s health initiatives. One of the Branch’s biggest events, Paws for a Cause, brings together pet lovers, families, and local businesses for a day of fun — all while raising critical funds for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Kim led the planning and design for the inaugural event in 2024 and is once again heading up efforts with the Branch President, Paige Ward for the 2nd Annual Paws for a Cause, happening October 11, 2025. The event features costume contests, photo opportunities, raffles, food trucks, and more — all wrapped in purpose.

“Our work gives us a platform,” Kim says. “If we can use it to lift others up — to bring people together, raise awareness, raise funds — then that’s the work I’m most proud of.”
Cartano Creative may be small by design, but its impact is anything but — and the studio is ready to grow. With a deep bench of experience and a proven process, Kim and Steve are actively expanding their client base, especially among local builders, architects, and mission-driven organizations who value partnership, quality, and story-driven visuals. Every client becomes an extension of their creative family — and that’s exactly how they like it.
“Design should feel like a conversation, not a transaction,” Kim says. “That’s how we approach everything — with clarity, creativity, and a commitment to getting it right.”
As the Suncoast continues to grow, it’s businesses like Cartano Creative that remind us what truly builds community: meaningful work, genuine connection, and a willingness to give back.
