Buc-ee’s Expanding Across Florida with Multiple New Locations

Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based chain famous for its massive travel centers, pristine restrooms, and an overwhelming array of snacks and merchandise, is making a major push into the Sunshine State. Several new Buc-ee’s locations are in the works across Florida, with strategic sites being developed along the state’s busiest highways—I-75, I-95, and I-10.

Charlotte County: Buc-ee’s Eyes Southwest Florida Expansion

Property records confirm that Buc-ee’s owns a parcel off Harborview Road near Interstate 75 in Charlotte County. This location is widely expected to become one of Florida’s newest Buc-ee’s travel centers.

The Charlotte County Commission recently approved a rezoning of approximately 653 acres in the area, primarily for residential purposes. However, part of this development includes room for the proposed Buc-ee’s. Planned infrastructure improvements surrounding the site include:

  • Widening Harborview Road to four lanes
  • Installing a roundabout at Harborview and West Village Project Driveway
  • Modifying I-75 ramps to improve traffic flow

County officials are also considering a traffic impact fee from Buc-ee’s to address local concerns about congestion.

Marion County (Ocala): One of Florida’s Largest Buc-ee’s on the Way

A massive 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s is planned for Marion County, just north of Ocala along I-75. Originally expected to be the largest Buc-ee’s in the country, that title was later claimed by a 75,000-square-foot location in Luling, Texas, which opened in 2024.

Despite not being the largest, the Ocala Buc-ee’s will still be a game-changer for the region. The store is expected to open in 2026, offering travelers dozens of fuel pumps and a wide selection of freshly prepared food, Texas barbecue, road trip essentials, and more.

St. Lucie County (Fort Pierce Area): Serving I-95 Travelers

North of Fort Pierce, near the Indrio Road interchange on I-95, Buc-ee’s is planning a large-scale travel center with up to 120 gas pumps and 778 parking spaces. This location will serve as a crucial stop for both Florida residents and visitors making the trek up and down the east coast.

Tallahassee: Panhandle to Get a Major Buc-ee’s on I-10

In the state capital, a new 75,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s is proposed near Interstate 10. Once completed, the Tallahassee location is expected to create approximately 200 jobs, further boosting the local economy while enhancing the road trip experience for drivers heading to and from the Florida Panhandle.

What Makes Buc-ee’s So Popular?

Founded in 1982 in Texas, Buc-ee’s has become a cult-favorite for road trippers and travelers. Each location is known for its:

  • Spotlessly clean restrooms (frequently voted the best in America)
  • Dozens of gas pumps with competitive pricing
  • Texas-style barbecue and brisket sandwiches made fresh on-site
  • Signature snacks like Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fudge
  • Huge retail floor space featuring Buc-ee’s-branded apparel, décor, and gifts

Buc-ee’s travel centers often span 50,000 to 75,000 square feet, dwarfing traditional gas stations and rivaling the square footage of small supermarkets.

Florida’s Future with Buc-ee’s

With locations already open in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, the addition of new Buc-ee’s across I-75, I-95, and I-10 will significantly enhance Florida’s highway travel experience. These mega-centers promise convenience, comfort, and a bit of Southern charm for locals and tourists alike.

As construction and planning continue, Buc-ee’s fans across the state have plenty to look forward to in the next few years.
