Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Brings a Taste of the Islands to Sarasota

| Suncoast Post Staff |

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, celebrated for its high-quality Hawaiian coffees and vibrant cafés, is proud to announce the opening of its newest location in Sarasota this January. Located at 6588 University Parkway, the café will offer handcrafted coffee creations “with a kick,” a food and beverage menu inspired by Hawaiian flavors, and branded merchandise—all in a setting infused with Aloha spirit. Unique touches include coffee ice cubes and a welcoming environment designed to transport guests to the islands.

Local entrepreneur Michael Miller owns and operates the Sarasota location, the first of three cafés he plans to open in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. The Miller family’s commitment to the community is evident through initiatives like offering free meeting space for local groups on weekday evenings and providing free delivery or curbside pickup to nearby businesses. Deliveries will be handled by a branded Bad Ass Coffee truck, adding a fun and personal touch to the experience.

“Opening Bad Ass Coffee in Sarasota is a dream come true for us,” said Miller. “From our signature coffee ice cubes to our welcoming space for local groups, there’s truly nothing else like it here. This is our way of giving back to the community that has always supported our family and fostering stronger connections.”

The Miller family’s deep-rooted friendship with business partner Danny Slavin—a 15-year bond—reflects the core values of Bad Ass Coffee: connection, community, and Aloha spirit. Their shared vision is to make the Sarasota café a central hub for residents and visitors alike.

A Hawaiian Coffee Experience

In addition to its premium Hawaiian coffee blends, the Sarasota café will feature a menu of blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, teas, and island-inspired dishes. Guests can also purchase Hawaiian coffee beans, including the renowned 100% Kona, single-serve pods, and flavored coffees, as well as playful branded merchandise.

“We’re thrilled to expand along Florida’s Gulf Coast with the opening of our Sarasota location,” said Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “The Miller family’s dedication to community engagement aligns perfectly with our brand’s values of Aloha and ‘ohana. We’re excited to see the impact they’ll have in Sarasota.”

Grand Opening Celebration

A two-day grand opening celebration will be held in the weeks following the launch, featuring giveaways, games, and, of course, coffee. The event will also include a charitable giveback initiative, highlighting the café’s commitment to the local community. Guests are encouraged to join the ‘Ohana Rewards loyalty program, which offers $5 off and 89 Lei (points) after their first purchase.

About Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii

Founded on the Big Island in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was inspired by the donkeys that transported coffee beans down the steep mountains of Kona. Nicknamed the “Bad Ass Ones” for their strength and determination, these hardworking animals became the brand’s symbol of quality and resilience. Today, Bad Ass Coffee honors its Hawaiian roots by sourcing premium beans from Kona, Kauai, and Maui, delivering a one-of-a-kind coffee experience infused with island spirit.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii – Sarasota is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit Bad Ass Coffee Sarasota or call (941) 217-6001.
