Allegiant Airlines Offering New Flights from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport & St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport
This summer, the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is set to launch a new nonstop flight to Plattsburgh International Airport in Plattsburgh, New York (PPG), starting June 12. This service is part of Allegiant Air’s expansion, which includes 10 new routes in June, with additional new flights from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) and Jacksonville International Airport.
The new route to Plattsburgh will mark Allegiant’s 28th route from SRQ, joining other destinations such as Austin, Indianapolis, and Nashville. Special introductory fares for this route start at $79 if purchased by February 13 and booked for travel by November 11.
Plattsburgh, located about five hours north of New York City and near the Vermont border, offers a strategic location for travelers. SRQ CEO Rick Piccolo expressed hope that the route will attract northerners seeking a warmer destination. He highlighted that the new service will provide convenient connections for both U.S. and Canadian travelers, allowing them to explore Sarasota Bradenton’s beautiful beaches, cultural attractions, and memorable experiences.
This flight will be the only nonstop service between Sarasota and Plattsburgh. Allegiant’s Chief Revenue Officer, Drew Wells, emphasized that this route aligns with the airline’s strategy of connecting passengers from underserved markets to destinations that are otherwise inaccessible through other airlines.
In addition to the Sarasota-Plattsburgh route, Allegiant also announced new services from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, including flights to Evansville, Indiana, starting June 13, and to McAllen, Texas, beginning June 14. The Evansville service connects the southern Indiana, Illinois, and northern Kentucky regions to the St. Pete-Clearwater area, while the McAllen route offers a unique opportunity for nature photographers and bird enthusiasts to explore the diverse landscapes of St. Pete-Clearwater and the Rio Grande area in McAllen.
