Allegiant Airlines Expands SRQ Airport Reach with new Portsmouth, New Hampshire Route
Allegiant Airlines continues to broaden its network at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, with the latest addition being a direct flight to Portsmouth International Airport at Pease in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Set to commence on November 23rd, this new route marks Allegiant’s 28th from SRQ and contributes to the airport’s portfolio of 48 nonstop destinations.
Portsmouth, situated approximately five miles east of New Hampshire’s coastline and just an hour north of Boston, offers a strategic gateway for travelers. This service represents SRQ’s inaugural direct connection to New Hampshire, with introductory fares starting at $69, making it an attractive option for both leisure and business travelers.
The announcement comes amidst a period of growth for SRQ, reporting a notable 9.2% increase in passengers from June 2023 to June 2024, totaling 337,656 passengers compared to 309,127 the previous year. Over the past 12 months leading up to the announcement, SRQ has seen a robust 7.7% rise in overall passenger traffic, underscoring its expanding role as a key regional airport.
Allegiant’s expansion at SRQ reflects its broader strategy to enhance connectivity across the United States, including recent additions such as services from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to Punta Gorda Airport and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. This move not only strengthens SRQ’s position as a growing aviation hub but also provides travelers with more options to explore popular destinations seamlessly.
