Allegiant Airlines Adds Nonstop Flights from Sarasota to Toledo, Expands Florida Network

| Suncoast Post Staff |

Allegiant Airlines is adding another destination to its growing roster at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). Starting November 20, 2025, travelers will be able to fly nonstop between SRQ and Toledo Express Airport (TOL) in Ohio, with introductory one-way fares as low as $59. Tickets are now available for purchase at www.Allegiant.com .

This new route marks the 35th nonstop destination Allegiant offers from SRQ, continuing the airline’s steady expansion in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

“We’re excited to see Allegiant continue to expand its offerings at SRQ,” said Rick Piccolo, President and CEO of SRQ Airport. “The addition of Toledo, Ohio, strengthens our connections to the Midwest.”

Allegiant has played a significant role in SRQ’s rapid growth in recent years. The airline’s increasing demand and passenger volume helped justify the construction of the new Concourse A, which officially opened in January 2025. Earlier this year, Allegiant also launched service from SRQ to Lexington, Kentucky (LEX), further connecting Sarasota to mid-sized Midwest markets.

Allegiant’s Broader Florida Expansion

Beyond Sarasota, Allegiant Airlines is launching six new routes across Florida, including three from a brand-new city for the carrier: Fort Myers (RSW). These new flights will connect RSW to:

  • Allentown, Pennsylvania (ABE)
  • Appleton, Wisconsin (ATW)
  • Des Moines, Iowa (DSM)

Fares for these new routes start at $69 one-way, and service begins in November 2025.

In addition, Allegiant is expanding in other parts of Florida with:

  • New nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Fort Wayne, Indiana (FWA)
  • Service from Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) to New Orleans, Louisiana (MSY)

“This expansion reflects our commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer. “By increasing service to beach cities, we’re helping travelers spend less time in airports and more time on vacation.”

About Allegiant at SRQ

Allegiant began serving SRQ in 2018 and has since become one of the airport’s leading carriers, specializing in low-cost, leisure-focused routes. With its ultra-low-cost model, Allegiant offers unbundled fares that allow customers to add only the services they need, keeping base prices low.
