Sarasota and Manatee County Have So Much for Dad on Father’s Day

Living on the Florida Suncoast is special.  Great weather, fabulous food, the Gulf of Mexico, fresh water lakes, wonderful live music and more.

It’s Father’s Day!  While I wish I could be hanging out with my kids and grand-kids, I am blessed to have a second family here in Florida.  What to do today?  Where to go today?  For sure, it’s an outdoor day.

Perfect weather to take Dad for a walk at Robinson Preserve or along the beautiful beaches of Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, Venice Beach or Bradenton Beach.  Bring along a kite, he will love it.  Want to stay indoors?  Take him bowling or to a movie.  There are some great movies showing.  

Want to take him out to lunch or dinner?  There are so many great restaurants.   When my kids or friends come into town, I take them to Clayton’s Siesta Grille or Primo-Ristorante… great restaurants today for indoor dining.

My first choice for outdoor, waterfront dining, is the Swordfish Grill & Tiki on Cortez.  That is where I will be today.  The team at the Swordfish have some special plans for Dad.  Great live music by Tim Chandler and the Kat Crosby Band.  They have some awesome dinner specials today which include Lobster & Shrimp or Prime Rib…. the best in town!  Ask for Bob Slicker!
