Lauren Mitchell Band

On The Road with the Lauren Mitchell Band!

| Sande Caplin |

Lauren Mitchell sent this to the  very late last night.  Thank you, Lauren and congratulations on a great tour.

Hello from the road, Believers! I thought I’d take a minute to let you all know about some of our adventures while we’ve been on tour. North Carolina was a great start to the trip, jamming with Mel Melton at Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse, and singing with Mac Arnold and Plateful of Blues at the Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival were definitely some highlights for me.

After a few days off  spent visiting family, we headed  to Canada for our show in London, Ontario.  The concert was to benefit The Great Lakes Blues Society, and their Blues in The Schools program.  The Great Lakes Blues Society has been in existence since 2004 and has raised over $100,000 dollars for their local charities as well as for the Music Maker Relief Foundation. I have to say that Denis Burns (the Treasurer and Booking Committee Chair) along with Paul, Garrett, Steve, and all the other folks we met were some of the most generous, kind and thoughtful event co-ordinations we have ever dealt with.  A big thank you goes out to all who made our international debut a reality!

Freddie SalemOf course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how amazing it has been for The Professor, Step, and I to  play all of our shows with the dynamic duo of Freddie Salem (The Outlaws, The Godz, The Gunslingers)  on guitar and Steve Calabria ( Jimi Vincent Band, Stick People, Phil Guy) on bass.  Both of these guys are consummate musicians and have added so much to our sound, and they’re way fun to hang out with to boot!  I think there may be some future collaboration in the works … But we’ll all just have to wait and see. We also had Stephen Rousseau on drums (Stick People) for our London show, and hope that we get to work with him again!

Hope you all enjoy the music!
