Mack Doss Sr., What A Wonderful Man!

Mack Doss Sr., What A Wonderful Man!

| Sande Caplin |

I got a chance to sit down one on one with Mack Doss Sr. last week.  He wanted to share some really cool stuff about his life, his music, family and friends.  As many of you know, Mack is going through a rather difficult time in his life.  On Sunday, June 4th from 12-5pm there will be a benefit show for Mack at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki in Cortez, FL.

Live Music Bradenton, FloridaGM, Bob Slicker and Manager Kat Humphrey are working very hard putting the event together along with the event organizer, everyone’s favorite, Twinkle Yochim!

Mack shared so many memories, like when he played with the Classics IV, Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon, The McCoy’s, Billy Rice, Dicky Betts and so many more.  His stories had me mesmerized.  He showed me a book of his memories- some of the photos are shown here.  He is most proud of a letter that he received in 2000 from the office of Katherine Harris, The Florida Secretary of State thanking him for assisting in the Museum of Florida exhibition.  (see below)

Doss3Please come out to the Swordfish Grill and Tiki this Sunday, June 4.  Some of the best area musicians are scheduled to perform- Twinkle & Rock Soul Radio Band, Tony LeClerc, Lenny Brooks, Benny Puckett, Billy Rice, Tim Chandler, Jason Haram, Leo Binetti, Pedro Arevalo and friends and others.

Charity Event, Cortez, FloridaGreat raffle prizes, awesome food and so much more.  Some of the auction / raffle items include 2 guitars, 2 months of Karate instruction, AC company seasonal inspections,  Jimi Hendrix painting, independent blues albums, restaurant gift cards,  house concert by Scott Anderson (Twitch) and more.
