My name is Brogan I’m from Idaho and my issue is that I’ve been talking to this girl from Canada for 4 and a half years. I couldn’t visit her cause I was always on probation and she wasn’t old enough to cross the border alone. At the beginning of this year I finally got off probation and I was planning on visiting her on her birthday but we decided to push it back a bit because she was going to have family down and she wouldn’t be able to spend a lot of time with me. July 22 was her birthday but on July 13 she ended it with me because she says she fell out of love with me. But then on her birthday it showed she was in a relationship on Facebook. I don’t know what to do. I really want her back and I know they won’t last, but I don’t know what to do.
Elder Response
Brogan, I see that you are upset about this girl breaking up with you. Long distance relationships are very difficult, and this was even more difficult because you couldn’t actually see each other. She is young, and I imagine that she liked the idea of a relationship with you, but when it came time to actually seeing you in person, she realized that this wasn’t what she really wanted. Please have respect for the choice she has made. Whether or not her new relationship lasts, you will be much better off having a relationship closer to where you live. I wish you the best.
Best Regards,
Renee
