It’s Up to You New York, New York to Beat the Coronavirus

| Sande Caplin |

New York is my kind of town and, as some of you know, I grew up on Long Island but spent lots of time in the “big apple!” The world is struggling and we are all adjusting to life in quarantine to stop the spread of and to beat the Coronavirus. Right now, New York City is the major hot spot for this terrible virus.

NY will beat the Coronavirus

We will come back stronger than ever and New York will be the best city in the world again because New Yorkers are tough SOB’s! New Yorkers will survive and be better than ever because they will beat the Coronavirus by doing whatever it takes, even if it means staying in.

Music is my way of coping

In the middle of the night I woke up thinking about Frank Sinatra and “New York, New York.” The lyrics have always meant so much to me so I’m sharing them, and a great video that Frank did many years ago, with you.

Start spreadin’ the news, I’m leavin’ today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York
I wanna to wake up, in a city that doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill
Top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you, New York, New York
New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps
And find I’m a number one, top of the list
King of the hill, a number one
These little town blues, are melting away
I’m gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York
And
If I can make it there
I’m gonna make it anywhere
It’s up to you, New York
New York
New York
