A Sarasota restaurant, which has been closed since the middle of June because of a fire that destroyed buildings in the area will be having a fundraiser. J.R.’s Old Packinghouse Café will be the recipient of this event put together by local musicians on August 14.
The event will take be held at the Sarasota Farm Bureau, 7289 Palmer Blvd. in Sarasota from 1:30 – 7pm. Come out and support the rebuilding of this local favorite restaurant. There will be a buffet by the owner of JR’s, J.R. Garraus, T-Shirts for sale, raffles, silent auctions and much more. There is a $10. Admission fee and ½ price admission for kids 10 years old or less.
The Old Packinghouse Café is known for its award winning Cuban sandwiches, fabulous burgers, rice and beans and more.

While the cause of the fire is still a mystery, J.R.’s lost an office, storage unit and the bathroom facilities.
