Florida Suncoast- It’s Time to Push Your Clocks Ahead One Hour This Sunday, March 10!

| Sande Caplin |

It’s that time of year again! Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday, March 10 at 2am. The change will give us more daylight in the evening, especially when we want to go to the beach and view our beautiful Florida Sunsets!

Daylight Savings Time started during World War I as a way to save energy in our country. The idea was that if we move the clocks forward, we would spend less time with the lights on in our homes and save some electricity!

Another thought is that you might sleep less during daylight hours in the morning saving daylight hours for the most productive times of the day! Not everyone agrees!

So, don’t forget to move your clocks forward before you go to bed on Saturday night. Most of our techie gadgets will do this automatically for you. And yes, will lose an hour of sleep, but do you really?!
